Police officer points gun at crowds in New York

An NYPD officer points his gun at protesters after a colleague was assaulted. New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea says it would be one of six incidents to be investigated by the department's Internal Affairs Bureau. A curfew failed to quell another night of violence in the city, with many shops - including Macy’s and Nike - hit by looters. Mayor Bill de Blasio introduced an 11 pm to 5 am curfew, which will be moved to 8pm on Tuesday. De Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo said the outbreaks of violence the previous two evenings gave them no choice but to impose a curfew, even as they insisted they stood with the throngs of peaceful demonstrators against police brutality and racial injustice.
